In today’s busy world, it’s hard to find space in our schedules to spend quality time with family, much less to volunteer. So, why not combine the two? Don’t think this is just about the immediate family either. Volunteering in your community can be a multi-generational activity that brings the whole family together.
When people become involved in their communities they take ownership of the problems facing all residents. Community engagement is about people working and learning together, gaining strength from each other and sharing visions and actions that lead to a common goal. Volunteering is a great way to begin your community journey.
GiveGab has joined forces with 9/11 Day, the international nonprofit movement to observe September 11 as a day of charitable service. Together they will empower volunteer efforts for what has become the nation’s largest annual day of charitable engagement, with more than 35 million participants last year alone. GiveGab allows organizations to easily create online volunteer programs and connect with those looking to observe and reflect upon the events of September 11 by working together to help others in need. GiveGab will also be making a donation to Tuesday’s Children, a nonprofit fund for the children of 9/11 and others impacted by global terrorism.
